PLC Oxygen Flow Controls
ECO2 SuperOxygenation Operation
The ECO2 PLC monitors the force
main water flow. Based upon this flow, the PLC
calculates an instantaneous Hydraulic Retention Time
(HRT) of the waste water inside the force main. This HRT
equates to an oxygen uptake rate of the force main. The
PLC then adjusts the oxygen feed rate into the ECO2 system by means of
the Oxygen Mass Flow Meter to match the oxygen uptake
rate.
The PLC also monitors sidestream
pump operation, side stream water flow, oxygen flow,
ECO2 system water pressure, and
water temperature and % oxygen in building. These
parameters are checked against design inputs to ensure
optimal system performance, system shutdown and alarm
notification if operation is out of
tolerance.
